We are an ageing society. The number of people over 65 in the UK population is increasing faster than any other age group and there are already more people over 60 than under 18.
This event, which is led by CADA, the Creative Ageing Development Agency, in partnership with The Audience Agency, explores the latest research into the cultural participation of older people. Bringing together findings from key projects which examine cultural and creative engagement and activity in later life, it will offer insights into baseline data on older audiences for arts and heritage in England and the impact of the pandemic and explore approaches to academic and place-based research into creative ageing. The event will conclude with a panel discussion to consider next steps in understanding and developing this wide-ranging field of practice related to a life stage that, if we live long enough, we will all experience.

- Celebrating Age - programmes targeting older people in England funded by Arts Council England and the Baring Foundation

This event will run for 1 hour and 45 minutes, including a short comfort break. The session will comprise a presentation of research, followed by a panel discussion. There will be an opportunity to ask any questions you may have to the panel.
