A highly proficient, motivated, adaptable and innovative technologist with over 19 years of experience working with charities, research, local/health authorities, governments, and businesses across various technologies/platforms, including web, mobile and in-person, both in the UK and internationally.

Stephen was formerly the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Technology Officer for an innovative SME developing and delivering a healthy ageing digital service across the UK and various territories, including Australia and New Zealand. The role included working with the research division in delivering operational and commercial services. Stephen led the translation of research into a commercial offering which scales the impact and reach, whilst following academic/ethical best practices.

Stephen is passionate about using data, technology, digital services, and evidence-based insight, to positively impact people and organisations on scale. Through evidence-based insights, organisations can provide relevant and diverse creative experiences, which can positively impact individuals' wellbeing.

Through Stephen’s volunteer work as a board member of the Age Better in Sheffield (Age Friendly Sheffield) from 2018, he saw how the cultural sector can improve the lives of individuals. Stephen was involved in the commissioning of services (a £6m investment programme funded by the National Lottery Community Fund) to reduce isolation and loneliness in people aged 50 and over. These interventions included projects such as those from the cultural sector, local charities and community-led groups. Stephen continues to be an active champion of Age Friendly Sheffield and the regeneration of cities following the pandemic – which the culture sector is a key enabler.
