Adeste Plus Summer School and Conference in Rijeka
21st – 25th September, 2020

Following on from the first Summer School in Lisbon, Portugal last year, the series continues in one of the 2020 European Capitals of Culture – Rijeka. Engaged Audiences: Strategies for Cultural Change will look at the organisational change that is needed in order for cultural institutions to be better engaged with audiences if they are serious about leading cultural democracy.

The Summer School forms part of the Adeste + Creative Europe project, taking place between 2019 and 2022, of which The Audience Agency is a partner. The project embraces new approaches to audience development, including the creation of a blueprint workshop programme based on ‘audience centred experience design’.

The project includes three summer schools and linked conferences, the first in Lisbon in September 2019, the second in Rijeka in September 2020 and the third in Turin in May 2021. Each one has two elements:

  • An intensive hands-on programme for a smaller number of people.
  • An open conference-style event in which the subjects are debated for a larger number of participants.

The Summer School takes place over five days (21st – 25th September 2020) with the last two days including the Conference. It is also possible to attend the conference as a stand-alone event for the two days (24th and 25th September).

Attendance is free but you will need to book your own transport and accommodation.

The closing date for the Summer School applications is 28th February 2020.

The closing date for the Conference applications is 10th September 2020.
